Radio Sunny South(RSS) was established in August 2004. Is an NPO and has Board that is supporting it. Radio Sunny South serves as the most reliable and flexible platform of engagement for communities, public and private sector in the mandate to develop the community.
RSS broadcasts for people in the South Coast of the KZN province, thus the whole of Ugu district municipality, parts of Sisonke district municipality in places like Umzimkulu, Ixopo, Highflats and Kokstad, parts of the Eastern Cape in places like Bizana, Flagstaff and Lusikisiki and parts of Durban and Pietermaritzburg.
The station is about informing, educating and entertaining the community in all levels. The uniqueness of the station lies in the fact that it stands in the crossroad where everybody meets. It does not cater for a specific level or type of community but it is home to every listener. The station is keen to work closely with communities in its footprint and beyond.
Since the station is in the boarder of KZN and Eastern Cape provinces, the languages used accommodates everyone in isiZulu, English and isiXhosa blending it with to suit all tastes.
The station is equipped with professional presenters and management which can be witnessed through the quality of programming and presenting skills.
